New Bedford drinking water is lead-free when it leaves the Quittacas Treatment Plant, High Hill Reservoir, Hathaway Road Tank and the distribution water mains. However, lead can get into the tap water through lead service pipes that connect your house to the water main in the street or from household plumbing. This page will allow you to check if you have a lead service pipe connecting your house to the water main. By entering your account number (located on your water bill as shown below) you will see if you have a lead service. If you do have a lead service and would like it replaced, or if you have any questions about your service please contact the DPI repair shop at 508-979-1550.
